Crossing Over

I feel like I am crossing over - but not to the dark side. No, this is a transformation of seeing the possibilities of digital media not as a consumer, but as a producer. A way of creatively making a difference. I have not developed all the social competency skills to be at full involvement, but I'm getting closer. This week my Voicethread helped me make the leap from my individual expression to being able to involve a community. What a difference! Jenkins would define this new skill as distributing cognition, or the ability to interact meaningfully with tools that expand mental capacities. This is good. I am confronting the challenges and taking the dare.
